Presbyter-in-Charge’s Desk

Dear Members of the Church of St.John the Baptist, I am very delighted to greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After taking over the mantle as the seventh Bishop of the Medak Diocese, God has been leading me with the motto “Revive, Rebuild and Rejoice in the Lord”. God often uses the ordinary, to do extraordinary. Just as God used one of the smooth stones held by the young man named David to knock down the enemy and bring victory to God’s people, God has chosen me to shepherd Medak Diocese, which is the single largest diocese in Asia and second largest in the world after Vatican.

It is a wonderful privilege for me to shoulder the responsibility as the Presbyter-in-charge for the Church of St. Johnthe Baptist. This Church is known for its rich heritage and Anglican tradition. The members of our church are spread across the twin cites. And I am proud of our esteemed members who hold responsible positions in the church and society. It is also great joy to witness the great zeal our members have towards missionary work. God has immensely blessed us so that we might be a blessing to many vulnerable and marginalized in our society. There is a great truth behind the old chorus which says, ‘Count your blessings and name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.’ Truly we need to count our blessings and make it as a habit. It’s a habit we all need to develop because those who do this are happier people. The Psalmist says, ‘Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits’. We should remember that God has given us a perfect gift in His Son, Jesus Christ.

God has laid upon me the burden to revive our churches, rebuild the broken walls and continue to rejoice in the Lord for all the awesome things God does in our lives. We the Methodist Wesleyan are the pioneers to do the work of our Lord in the five revenue districts namely,Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nizamabad, Medak and Adhilabad. Our Diocese mostly consists of rural pastorates wherein many villages do not have churches to worship and many of our ministers have no proper housing facilities to stay. However, I have committed to build rural churches and parsonages and I firmly believe that the God who called us will work for our good because we are called according to His purpose. (1 Cor 3:9) I would like to encourage all the members to uphold the ministry undertaken in the Diocese and prayerfully support the mission and evangelism, so that Gospel may reach the unreached.

May God bless you!
